Ground Support Systems (GSS) Engineer

Capacity Management oversees the overall space segment utilization of the ABS Fleet. They are responsible for ensuring optimized carrier loading of the transponders to ensure the best use of the resources of the transponders both from a technical and commercial standpoint.

• Review and preparation of contractual documents. Evaluate technical documents prepared by Sales Engineering and Sales Ops teams. Issuing Service Order technical attachments.
• Review transponder loading to identify grooming/pre-grooming scenarios to optimize the space segment resources.
• Prepare weekly Capacity Utilization Report and follow-up status of pencil booked capacities to update the current available resources.
• Provide technical analysis and support to the ABS regulatory team in matters of coordination discussions with adjacent satellite operators. As well as supporting sales driven ad-hoc projects that require link analysis.
• Generate and update ABS fleet operational plans to serve as a reference and guide for various engineering departments.
• Ensure relevant technical information in the ECM planning software is kept up to date.
• Oversees planning tools, including ECM, Complan, ACP, CLBT, and other relevant tools, to ensure they are updated to the latest version.

• Knowledge on the fundamentals of satellite communications.
• Familiarity with link budget analysis is an advantage.
• A critical thinker and has good analytical abilities.
• Degree in Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Strong written, verbal reporting skills. Able to interact at all levels.
• Job related experience in satellite communications is an advantage but not required. 
• No limitations travelling outside the country for training, seminar, satellite shows and other business-related activities.
