Corporate Paralegal

Position Title: Corporate Paralegal
Location: Dubai
Responsibilities: 

As a member of ABS’s legal and regulatory team, you will support our corporate and commercial lawyers with a broad range of secretarial functions including merger and acquisition activity, joint ventures, investments, finance and intra-group transactions, to name a few. You will also support the legal and regulatory team with a variety of legal issues spanning general commercial, finance, IP, employment, and regulation. 

  • Assist the company secretarial function with establishing and managing ABS’s global corporate structure, including the incorporation and management of its entities and branches around the world and navigating new jurisdictions and ongoing governance requirements
  • Support regulatory and license applications, including collating entity information and notary processes in various jurisdictions
  • Manage global corporate Know Your Customer (KYC) information, including ABS shareholder/investor structure
  • Manage IP registrations and any related disputes
  • Assist with commercial agreements to facilitate ABS’s business operations, including engagement letters and service orders/agreements
  • Assist with board and committee governance for ABS’s subsidiary boards 
  • Deal with ad hoc due diligence requests in relation to the company’s directors and shareholders
  • Maintain all company information and update group structure charts and capitalization tables
  • Review and negotiating NDAs
  • Conduct legal research and due diligence tasks, including compliance reviews 
  • Support a variety of stakeholders to develop policies and procedures that meet legal and industry standard audit requirements
  • Maintain legal and regulatory knowledge to support legal team meetings, as needed
  • Contributing to the overall legal functions by assisting the department, as necessary 
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor of Law degree or related field
  • Strong legal and communications skills and adaptability to work with staff across the globe
  • Knowledge/experience with UAE labor laws and regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word, SharePoint and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, including self-motivation and a non-hierarchical cooperative attitude
  • Fluent in English – Arabic language is a plus 
  • Experience in domestic and/or international telecom, space technology, or general technology sector is desirable
  • A good sense of humor and desire to collaborate with team members and stakeholders is helpful
