Position Title: Senior Sales Director, USA Government Business
Location: USA
Key Responsibilities: Senior Sales and Business Development position within the Global Accounts & USG team based ideally in or around the Washington DC area.

  • Manage, nourish and grow the current business and opportunities with USG.
  • Develop new business directly with customers and partners and identify new satcom opportunities in the short, mid and long term.
  • Identify and manage end-to-end opportunities; qualify leads, identify business and technical challenges and requirements, build solutions proposals, negotiate and close them in coordination with the SVP USG.
  • Develop and manage channels and partners, build strong relationships with key service providers and customers for various satcom including fixed, on-the move, maritime and others.
  • Track, Identify and respond to USG RFP/RFQ/RFI trough channels and partners.
  • Promote and position ABS’s satellite solutions and capabilities with service providers/integrators/satellite operators and directly with the USG end users.
  • Work closely and effectively with ABS internal stakeholders including the technical sales, commercial and operations teams to ensure coordination, visibility and customer support.
  • Align with company strategy and objectives including the Go-to-Market approach.
  • Achieve the sales quota including renewals and new sales as part of the USG team and contribute to achieve the overall annual sales objectives.
  • Participate and engage actively in events and conferences related to USG.
  • Provide timely market and customer updates to the SVP USG and to Sales Operations including competitive landscape.
  • May be required to support other 5-eyes governments satcom opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in engineering and/or business administration; ideal a combination of the two.
  • Minimum experience of 10 years in sales/business development of satcom solutions to USG from a satellite operator and service provider/system integrator perspectives.
  • Strong understanding of USG satcom landscape, budgeting, tendering and decision-making process.
  • Strong relations with current satcom service providers/integrators serving USG in USA but also globally.
  • Strong relations directly with USG end-users decision makers (i.e., MOFA, Navy, etc,…) in order to collect technical/commercial requirements, understand budget, decision making process and other key insights to help position ABS satellite solutions and select a suitable Go-to-Market approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to meet ambitious annual sales targets with quarterly evaluations.
  • Ability to interface with senior management at customers’ as well as to coordinate internally at ABS with technical and operational teams.
  • Active USA DoD clearance is preferred.
