Video Distribution in Africa

Africa has seen a substantial growth in satellite-delivered video distribution. 16 million pay TV subscribers will be added in Africa between 2022 and 2028 to take the total to 57 million on both DTH and DTT networks.

ABS has distinct advantage to meet the demand for both Ku-band DTH and C-band contribution connectivity across Africa due to availability of wide beams which are best suited for video distribution on a single beam. ABS has satellites on 75 degrees east and 3 degrees west to support the video requirements. Apart from offering raw capacities, ABS has managed video platform where the channel operators or resellers can send the video content on IP stream to ABS teleport and same can be turned around on DTH platform on both ABS-3A and ABS-2 satellites.
